About the Event

Ecuador and Latin American countries are among the world’s leaders in the production of fine flavored cacao, prized for its unique flavors and aromas. In recent years, this region has made significant strides in the cultivation of fine flavored cacao and has been recognized by countless international awards.

The Summit is organized by Conexión Chocolate and the Fine Chocolate Industry Association, with support from the USDA-funded MOCCA program, and its partners in Ecuador, Lutheran World Relief, Rikolto, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). Additionally, over 30 key institutions and businesses from the cacao and chocolate sector will be hosting exhibitor tables throughout the event.

The Summit will feature prominent speakers including Bill Guyton, Executive Director of the Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA), Carla Martin, Director of the Fine Cacao and Chocolate Institute (FCCI) and Professor at Harvard University, and John Kehoe, Director of Sustainability at Guittard Chocolate, among others.

Representatives from iconic Latin American and Ecuadorian cacao and chocolate organizations will share their experiences as well, including APPCACAO, FENAPROCACAHO, UNOCACE, Fortaleza del Valle, UOPROCAE, APEOSAE, Pacari, República del Cacao, To’ak, Hoja Verde, Conexión Chocolate and others.
